
Mental health nurses start service in Mount Gambier after witnessing gaps in the system
Sibi Thompson hadn't slept for days. Not for lack of trying, she was kept up thinking about all the people entering the emergency department only to return home to the same problems, days — or hours — later.
"I remember one day just thinking, 'How long am I going to do this?'," the nurse said.
"They've got nothing to do. They go home, sit, drink, that’s where the drugs come in. Because if you’ve got nothing to fill your time, what do you do? Something to make you sleep.
