About the role
Working as a key part of the Finance and Operations team reporting to the Manager, you will support TLC by providing essential financial management to the service providers. This includes monitoring and processing expenses, reconciliation of bank accounts with general ledges and funding accounts as well as maintaining accurate accounting databases. You will liaise with creditors/suppliers, analyse and compile financial information, prepare regular reports.

The Finance and Operations Coordinator is a key resource in our Padstow office to enable the operations team to achieve its finance-related objectives and provide administrative support to the department Manager.

Key accountabilities

Financial & Accounting

  • Ensure all accounting records and supporting documentation for all financial transactions are maintained in a systematic order and in a safe and secure condition in compliance with applicable legislations and guidelines.
  • Prepare the monthly financial reports and attend the directors meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial data and reporting, including financial year budgets, forecasts and assist in year-end audits
  • Prepare, monitor and review budgets and forecasts on a quarterly basis.
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future trends.
  • Manage all tax accounting including regulatory BAS & IAS statements, STP and annual returns to ATO.
  • Manage and process payroll fortnightly from end to end

Operation & Administration

  • Ensure the operational plan is delivered within agreed budgets and timeframes
  • Create and sustain a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Help in developing operational policies, practices and guidelines as required; ensuring organisational activities and outcomes are achieved
  • Systems improvement and process streamlining.
  • Maintain all the TLC insurance policies and renewals.
  • Manage the TLC’s fleets including maintenance, registrations, fuel usage and reporting

NDIS Support

  • Maintain current working knowledge of the NDIS policies and processes.
  • Manage the NDIS plan management claims and reconciliations.
  • Manage and report on the participants funds and budgets.

Qualifications and essential skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Finance
  • CA/CPA qualified highly regarded
  • 5 years + experience in an Accounting/Finance coordination role
  • Experience in the Social Housing, Disability or Aged Care sector beneficial
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software (Xero)
  • Technologically savvy
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed computer skills (MS Word, MS Outlook, client management system)
  • Ability to be flexible, demonstrate initiative and work effectively under pressure in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify problems and take corrective actions

Experience

  • Bookkeeping: 2 years (Preferred)
  • accounting: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence

  • Australian driver's licence (Preferred)
