The primary role of a Casual Support Worker - (Disability/Mental Health/AOD): To provide enabling, domiciliary and personal care assistance to individuals who are experiencing physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities in a variety of situations including in the home, group situations and community.
Location: All South Australia Metropolitan Regions (North East South West)
Main Duties: Follow organisations policies and procedures
Inform of any Reportable Incidents
Guide participants in the complaints and feedback processes.
Meet NDIS Code of Conduct requirements.
Risk Assessments
Implementing and monitoring support plans
Maintaining record of client progress
Strengthening the participant’s ability to coordinate their supports
Provide supports that will enhance the ability of the participant to travel and use public transport independently.
Transporting to therapy or appointments or day options
Assisting participants to participate actively in community, social and civic activities; includes supporting participants during these activities and developing participants’ ability to partake in these activities.
Assisting participants to participate in group-based community, social and recreational activities.
Assistance in building client self-image and self-confidence
Assessing client to determine continuing needs
Assist in day option activities
Drive 12-seater vehicle
Assist outdoor games and sports
Behaviour observation and support
Assistance with accommodation and tenancy obligations
Perform basic hygiene tasks such as bathing
Tasks of daily living such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry
Taking participants to the shops
Completion of chores.
Medication administration
Cleaning rooms
Follow policies and procedures
Partake in all training
Other duties as required.
Experience: 6 Months (Negotiable)
Skills: Punctuality is a must
Reliability and Flexibility
Good Written and Verbal communication skills
Empathetic and Proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field
